Shortly after Community Board 8 joined the borough presidents of the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island in condemning the proposal of Mayor de Blasio’s handpicked Charter Revision Commission to undermine all community boards by weakening their support from the borough presidents and removing experienced board members, the mayor’s corporation counsel’s office and his community liaison threatened all community boards that their public opposition to the mayor’s proposal would be viewed as illegal. more

Our tax dollars are currently supporting war crimes being committed in Yemen by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. That support is responsible for widespread destruction, disease and starvation. It has helped to create what is probably the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. more
In response to John ODonohue, who thinks Democrats “were embarrassing during Brett Kavanaugh hearing,” I am no fan of the Democrats, and certainly not of Hillary Clinton, who was an establishment/big business politician. But no support of the evil clown in the top office should speak of “embarrassing” behavior. more
The recent article on the front page of The Riverdale Press regarding the necessary, noisy, uncoordinated roadwork on Johnson Avenue and the roadwork on Riverdale Avenue brought to mind a proposal by the North Riverdale Merchants Association to narrow Riverdale Avenue from two lanes north and south to one lane north and south for faster-flowing traffic. more
