When the Benjamin Franklin Reform Democratic Club held its endorsement meeting for the 2014 Democratic primary for governor, Andrew Cuomo’s principal club supporters made the shockingly false accusation that his then primary opponent, Zephyr Teachout, was an anti-Semite. (Before that meeting, the principal purveyor of this dirty lie had been Cuomo’s closest buddy in the state legislature, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, who is coming up soon for sentencing for taking millions of dollars in a bribery scheme.) more
