Trump lovers: Character counts

In response to Dennis Donofrio’s positive comments about President Trump, it’s wonderful that Trump is meeting with Kim Jong Un, and wish him luck for the sake of our country. But let us not forget the “character traits” of this president before and after his election.

• Derogatory name-calling of his Republican nominees, wife of Ted Cruz, American journalist Megyn Kelly, and others.

• Reversing compliance for auto manufacturers to cut carbon emissions that Obama put into place (6.2 million U.S. children have asthma).

• Reversing school requirements to serve healthy meals to children (many children relied on that one healthy meal).

• After meeting with President Obama, Trump stated “he’s a good man.” But within weeks, he accused Obama of hiding a camera in a microwave. He’s never retracted his comment, though proven false.

• Not since 1976 has a president refused to release his income taxes to the public.

• Trump has caused a hate and divide in our country like we have never seen.

Lastly, Trump has no knowledge in keeping our rivers and oceans flourishing (they need help), nor is he making an effort to protect the Arctic Refuge, the last untouched place in the country.

I wish he knew that preserving our natural resources and ecosystem would be an economic boon, and is so vital to the survival of our children and their children long after we are gone.
