Time to be a leader in lead

To the editor:

In regards to the lead poisoning scandal at the New York City Housing Authority, this is almost the story of public schools that are marginalized and pauperized by benign neglect. 

The inner city schools with leaders who are not proactive risk their health as well as the health of their students. 

In New York City, this does not have to happen. Contact the United Federation of Teachers and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Work with your principal and the school safety committee.
