Verizon burglarized yet again

1. A Verizon Wireless Store in North Riverdale was burglarized for the third time in as many months on Monday night, according to police.

Witnesses reported seeing a male, about 5 feet, 10 inches in height, break the storefront’s glass window and walk into the store at 5909 Riverdale Ave.

Police said the suspect took $1,300 in various gadgets from Beats by Dre, before fleeing north on Riverdale Avenue.

 Another burglary

2. Earlier in the week, on Aug. 29, an unknown perpetrator burglarized a man’s apartment at 222 W. 233rd St.

Police say the victim, 34, came home at 1:30 a.m. and found his kitchen, bedroom and closets in disarray.  Upon further inspection, he found $2,800 in cash and personal belongings stolen from his home.

Both of these burglary cases are open to investigation.

Robbery of the week

3. A man was beaten and robbed while waiting for the bus in front of 6697 Broadway, police said.

The 50-year-old victim was waiting for a northbound bus when three men approached him. One of the alleged assailants brandished a black revolver and took the money from the victim’s pockets while two other held him down, police said.

The man was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Yonkers, where officers from the 50th precinct met him and took the report.

Cars Stolen

4.  A man’s loaner car was stolen from its spot behind a BP Gas Station at 3010 Riverdale Ave., police said.

The 2015 Audi, which belonged to Jack Daniels Audi USA in New Jersey, was loaned to the 44-year-old victim, according to police. He found on Sept. 4 that it had been stolen from a spot he uses regularly.

5. Another car was stolen from in front of 2621 Palisade Ave. on Sept. 2, police said.

The victim, a 79-year-old man, said he had lost a set of keys to his 2015 Lexus sedan the week before, and between 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 2 and noon the next day, someone took his car.

The car is valued at $45,000, and both of these cases are closed to investigation, police said.
