Details are sketchy late Wednesday after a 26-year-old man died inside a Henry Hudson Parkway building that provides apartments for graduate students and faculty of Columbia University.

First responders found the man unconscious and unresponsive when they arrived at 3260 Henry Hudson Parkway E., just after 5 p.m., on Wednesday. Medics couldn't find any apparent trauma, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death, but officers from the 50th Precinct will investigate, according to the New York Police Department.

Police are withholding the man's identity pending family notification.

The apartment building, known as the Arbor, has has 127 units on nine stories, according to published reports. Columbia added the building to its off-campus residential holdings soon after construction was completed in 2008. It's unclear if the man was a Columbia student or affiliated with the school.
