A. Duped robbers

Police said that a man was walking up the staircase of a building at 3340 Bailey Ave. on Oct. 24 at 3 a.m. when a 20-year-old man and 18-year-old man approached him.

According to the victim, whose age is unknown, one of the men “bear hugged” him and attempted to reach into his jacket pocket.

Police said that one of the perpetrators then pulled the victim’s headphones from his ears to disconnect them from his iPhone 6, which was inside the victim’s pocket.

The victim overpowered one of the men who was attacking him by swinging him toward a stair railing, according to police. That is when the other perpetrator pulled out a silver firearm from his pocket.

In an attempt to scare off the robbers, the man announced that he was a police officer, though he was not.

The victim’s hoax worked. The men immediately ran down the stairs of the building and fled toward Bailey Avenue.

After doing a canvass of the area, police found the two men behind a building.

Police confiscated an unloaded 0.22 caliber Bryco Arms semi-automatic pistol from the pockets of one of the perpetrators, who was later charged with criminal possession of a firearm.

According to the Bronx District Attorney’s office, the two men were charged with attempted robbery in the first and second degrees, attempted grand larceny in the fourth degree and harassment in the second degree, among other offenses.

B. Ultimate payback

Police said that on Oct. 26 at around 5:05 a.m., a 35-year-old man reported that all of his belongings in an apartment near West 238th and Orloff Avenue were damaged and broken after a dispute he had with a 28-year-old woman.

According to police, when the man asked the woman why she damaged his property, the woman told the victim, “Now we’re even.”

The woman was arrested and charged with felony criminal mischief.

C. DWI on Broadway

A 23-year-old man was arrested on the corner of Broadway and West 233rd Street on Oct. 25 at 4:20 a.m.

According to police, when the man was in a nearby parking lot, he had his keys in the ignition of his 2004 grey Chevrolet and the engine was running.

As he was exiting, police noticed that his headlines were off. When police pulled the man over, they smelled a strong odor of alcohol.

He was arrested and charged with DWI.

D. Thrashing on Godwin Terrace

A 43-year-old man approached a man in front of 3025 Godwin Terrace on Oct. 22 at 5:20 p.m.

According to police, the attacker told the victim, “Oh, you’re trying to fight?”

The perpetrator punched the victim in the face numerous times and placed his hands around the victim’s neck in an attempt to choke him, according to police.

Police said that the victim had cuts above his left eye, bruising and swelling to both of his eyes and scratches on his neck.

The victim was treated at a local Bronx hospital.

According to the DA, the victim’s attacker was charged with assault in the third degree, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, menacing and harassment in the second degree.

E. Samsung Galaxy snatched

A 33-year-old woman was returning from the store to her apartment building at 2825 Claflin Ave. on Oct. 26 at 5:10 p.m.

According to police, as she was walking, a perpetrator wearing black sweats and a black jacket, ran up from behind her and snatched her Samsung Galaxy Note 3 from her right pocket.

The phone was worth $600.

Police said that the thief fled on foot toward Reservoir Avenue. There were cameras at the location.
