No power on Sylvan, but power here

To the editor:

(re: “Sparks fly over power outage,” March 15)

I just want to thank The Riverdale Press for featuring a story on the outage of electrical power beginning on Friday, March 2 until Saturday, March 10.

Although parts of Sylvan Avenue had power on Sunday, March 4, the section of Sylvan Avenue where we live did not.

It’s important for the public to understand the personal stories behind these extended outages. 

It gets cold and dark at night, and difficult to manage.

My sincere praise to your reporter, Zak Kostro, and your photographer Julius Constantine Motal, for asking detailed and pertinent questions, and to Julius for documenting our living conditions.

Please keep up the good work, and continue to cover local stories in-depth.
