1. Broadway restaurant burglary
5668 Broadway
Bronx, NY
Police said two men stole about $19,000 in cash and property from the Silhouette Restaurant and Lounge at 5668 Broadway early Saturday morning. The owner of the establishment reportedly became aware of a break-in after receiving an alert from a security company. Police said two men had forcibly entered the restaurant through the back door and stole two cash registers, two small boxes filled with cash and property. The case remains open to detectives.
2. Burglary prevented
3075 Heath Ave
Bronx, NY
Authorities said they arrested a 25-year-old man who allegedly tried to break into a woman’s apartment while she was still at home. The victim, 28, was asleep in her 3075 Heath Ave. home at 3:45 a.m. on June 16 when she reportedly heard a loud banging on her door. Police said the victim looked through her peephole and saw the defendant trying to pry the door open. Officers arrived on scene and arrested the suspect, who reportedly had a large knife. The case is closed.
3. Barricades stolen
221 W Kingsbridge Road
Bronx, NY
An unknown number of thieves stole barricades valued at $2,400 from a construction site at 221 W. Kingsbridge Road, according to police. They said the victim, Slater Associates, reported that sometime between June 16 at 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. on June 18, a group of unidentified men entered the construction site and made off with the property. Police said there were cameras on scene. This case is still open to detectives.
4. Motorcycle stolen
3041 Kingsbridge Ave
Bronx, NY
A black Yamaha motorcycle was stolen, police said, from in front of 3041 Kingsbridge Ave. They said the victim, a 23-year-old woman, parked the vehicle at 11:50 p.m. on June 15 and when she returned at 8 a.m. the following day, it was gone. This case is closed to detectives.
5. Theft from auto
Henry Hudson Parkway and West 250th street
Bronx, NY
A woman told police that someone broke into her car and stole $886 worth of property while she was at synagogue on Saturday. According to police, the victim, 35, was parked on the corner of the Henry Hudson Parkway and West 250th Street. They said she left various items under the seat of her car but when she returned, she found the passenger side window of her Toyota Yaris broken and the contents missing. The grand larceny from an auto case is still open to detectives.
