Homeless man charged with attempted robbery at Cannon Place

A 57-year-old homeless man has been arrested and charged with several crimes following an attempted robbery on Aug. 11, police said.

A 50-year-old woman reported to police that she was walking with her family in front of 3811 Cannon Place around 9 p.m. when she discovered someone was inside her vehicle.

Police say Joseph Fracasse broke the passenger side window of the woman’s 2020 Jeep and tried to take the items from inside. Police say when Fracasse was confronted, he shoved and kicked the woman, causing a cut to her left arm.

The woman was treated on the scene. Police also say a crack pipe with residue was discovered in the back seat of the car.

Fracasse was arrested and charged with attempted robbery in the second degree and third degree. He was also charged with attempted grand larceny, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.

Motorcycle stolen

A man’s motorcycle valued at $12,599 was stolen on Tuesday, Aug. 1, police said.

The man said that he had parked his 2021 Husqvarna in front of 3130 Albany Crescent. But when he returned at around 8 p.m. he discovered it was no longer there.

The good news is that there was an air tag attached to the motorcycle. The 50th Precinct’s detective squad is investigating the case.

Dashboard sensors taken

A woman reported to police that the dashboard sensors on the front of her car were stolen.

The victim told police that she parked her Honda Accord in front of 3125 Tibbett Ave. on Aug. 6 around 10:30 a.m.

When she came back to the vehicle the next day around noon, she found out the sensors were missing. The sensors are valued at $3,000.

Honda stolen

A man’s 2021 Honda Odyssey valued at $40,000 was reported stolen, police said.

He stated to police that he parked his car in front of 4475 Henry Hudson Parkway around 11 p.m. on Aug. 7. It wasn’t until the next day that the man discovered the theft. There unfortunately was no surveillance footage at the scene.

Burglary on Johnson Avenue

A woman’s apartment on 3640 Johnson Ave. was broken into sometime between Aug. 8 at 5 p.m. and Aug. 9 at around 1 p.m., police said.

The victim told police that when she arrived home she noticed damage to the front door. Upon entering her home she learned that around $4,000 were stolen.

Moped stolen

Police received a report about a man’s moped being stolen in front of 3203 Oxford Ave. on Aug. 18, police said.

A neighbor who happened to witness the theft let the victim know what was going on around 7 p.m. When the man went outside to check, his 2003 Black Flying Marshal Bike was gone. It is valued at $1,600.
