To the editor:
On Monday, June 3, I called Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz’s office to make some common sense suggestions on strengthening security at our local schools. The response I received was clueless and despicable.
The arrogant and condescending Dinowitz representative stated that if a machine gun-toting shooter was determined to enter a school, that there would be nothing one could do to stop him or her. He completely dismissed advice I cited by law enforcement officials following school shootings.
If this pathetic and apathetic response to a constituent on such a serious issue reflects Dinowitz’s attitude, then it is time for the long-serving Assemblyman to retire and spend time with the family. Short of that decision, he should immediately fire the spokesman who answered the phone.
