1. Teen assaulted
Perot Street and Segdwick Avenue
Bronx, NY
A 17-year-old boy was attacked on his way home from school at 5:15 p.m. on March 31. The victim told police that he was walking on the northeast corner of Perot Street and Segdwick Avenue when an unknown number of perpetrators hit him on the back of the head and fled the scene. The victim could not give a description of the attackers other than that there was more than one male. The case is open to investigation.
2. Shoe repair store robbed
6425 Broadway
Bronx, NY
Sometime between 11 a.m. Sunday night and 5 a.m. Monday morning, a 59-year-old man’s car was stolen from in front of his home. The victim told police that he parked his 2001 Dodge Caravan in front of 6425 Broadway on Sunday and returned the next morning to find it gone. Police said that a canvas of the area produced negative results and there was no video on scene. The case is closed to detectives.
3. Purse snatched in BJ’s
184 W. 237th St.
Bronx, NY
A woman said her purse was stolen while shopping at BJ’s Wholesale Club at 184 W. 237th St. on March 31. The victim, 36, told police that inside the store, she felt someone grab at her and when she turned to look, the thief had made off with her purse, along with her personal ID cards and credit cards. This case is open to detectives.
4. Rim thefts continue
Henry Hudson Parkway and Independence Avenue
Bronx, NY
Tires and rims were stolen from a 2015 Honda sometime between April 1 and Sunday. The victim, a 26-year-old man, told police that he had parked his car on the corner of Henry Hudson Parkway and Independence Avenue and when he returned two days later, all four rims and tires were stolen. The parts were valued at $1,520. The case remains open to detectives.
