LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Changes coming soon to KRVC

To the editor:

Thank you to everyone who has supported and committed to support our work in 2019. The response so far this year to our fundraising drive has been great.

Of course, we need lots more support, but we are encouraged by our initial response and results.

We also would like to update everyone on our cultural program. For the past several years, we have produced cultural events throughout our community with the Kingsbridge Riverdale Van Cortlandt Development Corp. Over the last year, we have been working to spin off our extensive cultural program to form a new not-for-profit, Brush the Bronx.

Brush the Bronx will be a cultural organization to serve all the communities throughout the Bronx. It will share staff, resources and space with KRVC.

Currently, we are in the process of doing upgrades and rebranding to our space at 505 W. 236th St., to make it more comfortable for the two organizations to share. The space will be called 505BX.

We are planning to expand our calendar of events this year at 505BX to include pop-up art gallery shows featuring local artists: Gallery 505. We will remove the KRVC sign and replace it with a black awning, and we are making changes to the indoor and outdoor spaces to make them more comfortable for our events.

Please look out for details for our first Gallery 505 show to feature the work of local artist Jordan Moss. The opening reception is scheduled for April 4.
