Always put yourself first

To the editor:

Many feel that we are falling into the abyss. We can catch ourselves before we do.

What we need first is a basic salary to lift all out of poverty with food, clothing and shelter. Next we need to worry about health care, and we have to know that the environment will be healthy enough to sustain life with clean air and healthy food.

These acts are going on in many places now if we open our eyes and support the movements. Get on board.

I’m not a socialist nor am I a nationalist, but some things have to take precedence. The 1 percent, if they have taught us anything, is that putting yourself first makes you the winner in some ways.

I would like us all to be winners.
